So apparently the NAACP has now made it a crime to speak your mind when you are off work, frequenting the local pub with your buddies, and blowing off steam about your daily strife. You may or may not have heard about Police Officer James Cousins II who, while OFF duty, made a joke to his friend relative to a drug dealer who was murdered. Little did the 'unsuspecting' officer know was that he was being video taped by an unknown bystander who later uploaded his rant regarding the drug dealing murder victim to YouTube.
Now, this unknown subject knew that nothing positive could result from one broadcasting how this police officer felt about this person who was murdered. What was he trying to prove about the officer? Did his commentary affect his job performance? Did it make his career of taking drug dealers, child molesters, and murderers off the street any less virtuous? No. And now the NAACP is calling for this officer to resign, simply because he vented his feelings in a place he thought to be a sanctuary, not a subterfuge.
Additionally, it is clear that the only reason that the NAACP is even involved is because the murder victim was African American and that they wouldn't have even considered lending their 'services' in this matter if the subject had been any other ethnicity. Is this not a deeper level of discrimination than what they are claiming that this officer has committed?
The bottom line is that James Cousins is a police officer who witnesses crime, murder, and despicable acts committed every single day of his life. So what if Rondale Jennings, Sr. (who was a violent and criminal drug dealer) was murdered and Cousins discussed his death with his friend while he sat and drink at a bar after work? I know, why don't we discuss the people that Jennings murdered in cold blood and the chilren he dealt crack cocaine to... I'm personally greatful that he is off the street, whether he is dead or behind bars.
As for the snake who recorded Cousins and started this fiasco, way to lower my faith in humanity just that much more. As for Cousins, high five buddy.
The moral of the story, if you don't have anything nice to say, you should still say it, but just make sure no one is recording it in the background.

Bad Economy or Bad People?
Well, I am starting to think that the problem with the world today isn't to blame solely on the economy. Yes, the economy drastically effects our daily lives, in good times or in bad... however, I believe there is more to what causes a recession then just numbers. People... people who are selfish and worried only about themselves and their bonus checks at the end of the year. Yes, it is important to be financially stable and have the luxury of having a surplus in the end, but at what cost do we receive the extra?

Lately I have noticed an increase in theft trends. From wallets, and money to little things like cigarettes. It seems that what people could once easily afford, they are now having to do without. For those who cannot except being forced to sacrifice, they take any given opportunity to take what they cannot purchase. Of course, thieves are present when the economy is during an expansion, but now they seem to be coming out of the wood works. Middle aged hard working adults who would normally make every attempt to find the owner of lost property will now make the opposite decision and disregard what they have always represented. It is sort of a primitive response to their surroundings; a certain "kill or be killed" type of methodology.
To say this does not mean that if the apocalypse occurred today that I wouldn't do everything in my power to ensure my child's safety and survival. Despite what people may believe today, we are not experiencing the apocalypse right now. Things could be much, much worse. Are we on the verge of such a cataclysmic event? Maybe. But, it isn't right now so there is no excuse for such behavior. There are resources for those who are in need and there are still people giving despite of the economic restraints. To try and justify stealing at this point is simply erroneous.
I investigated a wallet theft that began about two weeks ago where an unknown subject simply swiped a wallet from an elderly man at an ATM. He took the $225 in cash and turned the wallet in trying to salvage his demised character. Well, he got caught. I saw the shame in his eyes as he made restitution and kept repeating how he "knew it was wrong". Well, if you knew it, then you shouldn't have done it, right? Well, we will see what the prosecutor wants to do with the man. I was satisfied just being able to tell the elderly gentleman that his money had been returned.
With times changing and not improving, it is that much more important that people hold on to their values and morals and not resort to behavior that will only worsen the world and teach our children that dire situations permit irresponsible actions.

A Truth Revealed
Sometimes it takes one person to take on a hint of success to cripple everyone that surrounds them. It isn't enough to be proud for someone and their achievements, but rather, those who witness one begin to succeed must to all they can to disable their efforts in order to prove to themselves that they are not worthless. Females are the worst in this situation... and feminine men are right along side them. It is impossible for females to co mingle with each other in a social or work environment without jealously rearing its ugly head at some point. A woman cannot physically or emotionally accept when another woman around them is receiving more praise or attention. It is like something begins to block the pathways of logic and compromise in their brains, causing them to become slightly insane in a way.
When someone around you begins to move forward and you seem to remain stagnant, why point fingers and blame at others when it is most likely you that is deficient and lacking the will to succeed? Rather than owning up to the fact that maybe you haven't yet met the qualifications to receive a certain reward and you need to work on becoming better in whatever area you are neglecting within yourself. No one can do this for another person. To become envious and attempt to sabotage another person for not accepting mediocrity is pathetic and asinine.
What exactly can be accomplished and provoke a positive outcome by bringing down those that surround you rather that pushing yourself up to a higher level? Anyone who attempts or accomplishes injuring a person's success or sabotaging their achievements in anyway should be ashamed of their self and come to realize that their is truly a reason why they will never make it further than where they currently stand. To deliberately cause another person anguish in order to make yourself feel better... this is simply incomprehensible to me. This type of behavior pushes those who do care to simply become untrusting and cold. For if those who you trust will attempt to ruin you or what you are attempting to gain in life, then to whom do you turn. There isn't anyone else. Then those who did care, well, they begin to trust in no one. I think that hardening someones heart is one of the worst crimes against persons that can be committed. Physical wounds can heal... but the emotional wounds last forever.
Some days, witnessing such childish behavior is more bearable than others. Some days, however, I wish I could make people see how what they do truly effects others in deep and long lasting ways. It is saddening and disheartening. Life is life. Live it the best and most positive way that you can. It isn't always easy to make the right decision. If you follow the golden rule you may stay on the right track... treat others the way you would want to be treated. Would you want someone conspiring to hurt you because of an inferiority complex they may be experiencing? I doubt it. Move on and gain your ground in a positive way. If you have to hurt others to get what you want then it is probably something that you shouldn't have.
